About EAS Relay Network (ERN / VTWF)
The EAS Relay Network (ERN / VTWF) is a dedicated 24/7 meteorological telemetry, civil emergency alert relay, and live broadcast service serving the greater New York City metropolitan area and the national EAS community.
Emergency Alert System
Integrated with hardware DASDEC encoders/decoders and the GWES EAS Network. Relays live SAME/EAS warning bursts (EAN, TOR, SVR, FFW) with automated failover routing.
Meteorological Ingestion
Pulls multi-office NWS data (Upton/OKX & Mount Holly/PHI), live NEXRAD Doppler radar loops, NOAA SPC convective outlooks, and Mesoanalysis sounding diagnostics.
Aviation & Marine Array
Monitors NYC metro airport METAR observations (JFK, LGA, EWR, TEB, FRG, ISP) with FAA flight categories and offshore NDBC ocean buoys (44065, 44017, 44025).
